Sensitive. Skilled. Supportive.
These three words define Teddi Iley as both an artist and an educator. Based in North Austin, TX, Teddi works with singers ages 11 and up, from beginners to seasoned professionals, across styles including classical, pop, choral, rock, and musical theater. Each lesson is thoughtfully tailored to the individual, supporting both vocal growth and personal confidence.
A crossover soprano known for her passionate and nuanced performances, Teddi has been hailed by BroadwayWorld Austin as an artist “whose strong voice and charming onstage persona are equally impressive.” She has performed leading and supporting roles in opera, musical theater, and new works, including appearances with Austin Opera in The Manchurian Candidate, The Pearl Fishers, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, as well as Philia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Georgetown Palace Theatre). Some of her favorite roles include Johanna (Sweeney Todd), Adele (Die Fledermaus), and Giannetta (L’elisir d’amore), a role that notably showcased both her physical strength and roller-skating skills. Teddi is also deeply committed to the development of new works and has performed principal roles in a variety of workshops and concert presentations of original musicals and operas.
In addition to her performing career, Teddi serves as a Teaching Artist and Soprano Chorus Section Leader with Austin Opera and as Soprano Section Leader at Lakeway Church. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Baylor University, is an active member of NATS, and maintains a thriving private studio in North Austin. She has experience working with singers of all ages in both private and classroom settings, striving to make opera and musical theatre accessible to everyone. Teddi isv passionate and committed to helping every singer build confidence, discover their unique voice, and enjoy the transformative power of music. She always strives to be sensitive, skilled, and supportive. Take a next step toward your singing goals and book a free consultation or a lesson!

Help, I can’t sing! Can I still take voice lessons?
Absolutely! Most people can sing, they just need the proper tools to be able to match pitch, improve breath, clarify the tone, or whatever may be impeding their vocal progress. I have seen amazing vocal transformations occur! If you do not believe singing is possible, please book a free consultation and we can see what vocal progress looks like for you.

What does a typical lesson look like?
Lessons will differ due to lesson length and each lesson is tailored for your needs and goals. If you are a beginner, the first few lessons will likely include building skills like breathing technique, posture, etc. and may not follow the schedule below exactly. However, here is a basic outline of an average voice lesson:
- Check-in. I will check in on your general health and wellbeing. This helps us know how to proceed in voice lessons no matter what life is throwing at you that day!
- Warm-ups. Singing is a sport; we are training to coordinate muscles to perform well in any situation. Just like most sports, we will stretch and warm-up in order to avoid injury, solidify technique, and build confidence.
- Sing! We are here to sing and to become better singers in the process!
